Spartacus
Spartacus was a Thracian gladiator that escaped his training camp and rebelled against Rome. Little was known about Spartacus leading up to the Third Servile War. Many believe he he once served under the Roman legion, though the only thing historians know for sure was that somehow, he was sold into slavery.
In 73 B.C. spartacus escaped the gladiator training school, with 70 other gladiators. They hid in Mount Vesuvius. Where they trained together to become better fighters. At first, Rome didn't see Spartacus and his army as a very big threat. Though, with leadership help from Crixus and Oenamus and an army that reached a high of 90,000 slaves, Spartacus was able to defeat four forces that Rome sent him.
Instead of crossing the Alps to freedom, Spartacus went south. After a long time of chasing. The slave army met the legion commanded by Marcus Crassus. Where inn the end, the slave army was defeated.Spartacus's body was never found.
